Sunshine on
the far side of
a distant tree-lined hill.
A glimmer
of hope against
infinite grey tapestry.
A distant
shine like a coastal
lighthouse against the fog.
The beat
of a loving heart
calming the icy nerves.
Finding passion
in the stars against
the black of winter nights.
Finding Spring’s
promise and Summer’s warmth
deflecting peoples’ cold wintry stares.
Overcoming obstacles
by steering clear of
dark casted envy.

Your poem captured my sentiments on this icy frigid morning…I’m longing for Summer’s warmth!
