Deer Walk

Filed under: Poetry — migueltio @ 3:21 pm

Quietly emerging

from trees

gradually coloring.

More brave

they are forging

to find

grass for feeding.

The oranges and browns

more easily hiding

than the greens of summer

or the whites of winter

that expose them more

to hunters striding.

Does and fawns

on the run

as the days

grow darker

shining less sun.

The herds

moving on

soon to settle down

to dream

as the winter

dons its crown.
