A Mother’s Love

Filed under: Uncategorized — migueltio @ 9:58 am

A lioness proud

a mother lioness

roaring loud

protecing her young

from the slime

from the dung.

Slimy hyenas approaching

vindictive hyenas encroaching

upon her young

they are circling

upon her young

they are poaching.

Hyenas striking

they grit their teeth

each sharp as a sword

out of its sheath

hoping to drag them

off the cliff beneath.

Courageous lioness

stands her ground

her mighty roar

a defending sound

with power and strength

her claws do pound.

Cowardice hyenas begin to hide

cowering away

to their dens inside

avoiding the grapple

with the brave lioness

avoiding conflict with her pride.

Cunning hyenas

plotting their next foray

settling to dine

on weeds and burnt hay

the great lioness

winning the day.

  1. The eloquence with which this is delivered commands the attention of those of us privy to your words! None of your works are ever lacking, but … for me, this piece excels far and above any of your previous works! Love it, Miguel…
