Holiday For All

Filed under: Poetry — migueltio @ 4:42 pm

A peaceful morning

awakening early

a day after

a thankful day.

A day designated

A WHOLE DAY

by President Lincoln

a holiday

to set aside

in a thankful way.

This morning

after so early

I awoke

my feet would not

allow me stay

in this house

a minute more.

From here I ran

not down to the store

but over and around

the track

battling no line

spending no cent

not exercising

some warped sense

of entitlement.

Every store clerk

is as entitled

as I am

to have off the

ENTIRE THANKSGIVING DAY

to spend with family

or other loved ones

 not having to worry

over breaking away

at two or three in

the afternoon

to have to sleep

until seven or eight

having then to work

so that corporate greed

can enable inpatient mobs

thinking that

a clerk’s holiday

does not rate.

  3. Hey there! Do you know if they make any plugins to assist with
Search Engine Optimization? I’m trying to get my blog to rank for some targeted keywords but I’m not seeing
very good results. If you know of any please share. Many thanks!
