Beauty In Numbers

Filed under: Poetry — migueltio @ 5:30 pm

Seven candles burning
tonight and rain
is abound compromising
winter’s grip
bringing dreams of warmth
and delights to many no
longer a dismissed rejection.

Seven candles burning
bright and among their
flames I take flight
into the stars that
cannot be found behind
all the blemishes left
upon our existences.

Seven stars uncovered from
the darkness of misfortune
and given a polished new
shine and direction towards
many worlds away where my
voice tries to take root and
generate its place.

Seven voices have I issued
songs of hope to streets
pounded flat with the
feet of those who wish
to loosen the asphalt
below leaving holes of eternity
to fall through tomorrow.

Seven holes in seven hearts
have I patched today
letting love resume
where hurt and sadness
had been living never
again to gnaw away
your spirit.

Seven candles burning
making seven wishes for
your happiness generating
your beautiful smile
to once again grace
all the vast dimensions
of creation’s amazing glories.

  1. just loved the poem Miguel. amazing! Christians and muslims link seven to darkness, sins we hindus link it to heavens and goodness.

well, this number is my lucky number🙂

    • I am Christian, and I know what you mean but I myself think of seven as a number of beauty, like what you said about you as hindu. Thank you for sharing your beauty with me!!
