Thoughts Rejuvenated

Filed under: Poetry — migueltio @ 3:07 pm

Having walked through
a grove of maples the
leaves not yet
fallen but the branches
looking well aged
hold a weakened foundation.

One branch falls before
me at the grove’s edge
while many behind me
tumble rapidly noisily
leaving a path
now impassable.

Traversing further surrounded
by air much drier the
scent of evening fire
delightful to breathe in
its’ aroma does inspire
me to keep moving forward.

Now along a riverbed
a refreshing drink cupped
into my hands of water no
diversion can stop as it nourishes
my vision rejuvenates my dreams
its flow enlightening my plans.
