New York For Sale

Filed under: Poetry — migueltio @ 2:16 pm

we fell out
to casinos we
did sell out
thinking the clinking
of nickels and dimes
are the only good times
to tell about.

They keep telling
this generation
casino money
will fund education
while our state
once great
has now become a
joke within our nation.

Passing programs
he keeps bragging
while the truth is
New York is lagging
every time I
hear him talk up
all his “greatness”
I start gagging.

Just think
he wants
to run
for President
pray he
does not
become a
DC Resident.

Through the darkest
days of “The Great Depression”
New York built up
knowing the ways
to better days
are rooted in
as motivation.

  1. good one Miguel, though I don’t know how grave the condition in NY is, it sounds really bleak.
