A shine like no
other walking through
the streets of
a city now awakening
or a road out in the
countryside receiving dawn’s

A goddess strolls along
the beaches of Santo Domingo
smiling bright as Shakira
skin as brilliant as Robin Givens
with an incredible presence as
a flock of colorful toucans in
El Yunque of Borinquen nearby.

Transported by the
beams of sun to a grove of
ripened guavas she
deeply breathes in their
sweet scent dominating
the air flowing in from
the sea.

She passionately devours
six of the sweetest
her heart beating faster
with intense enjoyment
as each ensuing fruit
is sweeter than her dreams
ever fathomed.

Now having made way
through the ensuing heat
progressed by the ensuing
hours of the passing
of the day she submits to
her own paradise fulfilling her
melodic desires.

  1. goddess or not I love guavas, esp ripe and sweet ones
