For Greater Good

Nature sometimes

needs technology

and technology

is beautiful when

it helps nature

endure and prosper.

When the right minds

get together

and learn how much better

a plant can be tended

to and harvested for

greater good for greater

that is one example of when

technology too

is beautiful.

Things are not so beautiful

when mass plantings for

mass production cause

mass sickness and mass

destruction all in the name

of a marketed label that

serves an empty future

to a household table.

Let machines and gadgets

evolve but let the products

of nature do the same in

ways that add to a greater

natural good

not a tasteless

A Blessing Realized (Dedicated to my friend blogger at her page”Beautybeyondbones”)

A life that keeps
on living
a gift  that keeps
on giving
a heart that keeps
on beating
a warmth that keeps
on heating.
A decision she made
to be here for keeps
as she lights up the
city that never sleeps
marching forward pursuing
her acting career
not succumbing to trivial
anxiety or fear
she gives thanks to
God for all He has
seeing each new day
as an all new
she recognizes past
times past mistakes
she delights in
the gift
every new day

Fly seagull fly
search the blue waters below
and feed your desires.
Fulfill your vast dreams
and nourish your great passions
by spreading your wings.
Search for what feeds you.
Consume only what will be
your great destiny.
Sail high in the winds
and keep on charting your course
never looking back.
Fly seagull fly
and teach me as you fly on
to never give up.

Bee Memories

The walks we took
every Wednesday afternoon
in the warmer times
of year went on for a while.
Every Wednesday
when I returned
around noon from Cville
you were always ready
to let me know that
you knew I was home.
At first we caged you not
to be cruel but for a little
time that you were alone
so as not to let you
hurt yourself.
The moment I returned
you were ready to go
ready to show
me that out of that
cage you wanted to
Soon you needed
no cage soon you achieved a more
reasonable age to let you
alone all on your own.
For an hour I let you
out for an hour you
discovered what the world
outside was all about alone until the
moment I came to walk.
I miss those walks with you
through the campground’s many
trees in the afternoons of the
spring, summer, or fall  breeze,
I miss you and so do the others who
enjoyed walking too.

Share The World

Further down
and across town
we once thought
all culture should
that all identities,
expressions, and personalities
should slowly and
surely separate
with no room to
think or cultivate
the heartfelt gifts
one can create,
more recently they have used the term
“gentrification” as the direction
we should take as an
entire nation.
But we find ourselves
shedding more and more
tears as days pass
to months and months
pass to years as more
and more people
think that mass violence
is the way to feed
the misled conscience that
has been emptied of
any tolerance
and filled instead
with disturbed cultural
We need to build up
instead of always
stripping down accepting
variety in any big
metropolis or small rural
town being mindful that
life does not consist
of only one way
but a sharing of our
world on every
God Gifted day.

Breaking Free

Crowded together
for what seems
like forever to
manufacture a moment
in a plastic-made sun
wearing a manufactured
smile having plastic-made
Beaming through the
sugar coated cracks
is a reality an energy
that despite the differences
the different bodily temples
within which dwell  the different
hearts beating the seconds of every
night and day casts among
us a bond too fine for
the eye to see but strong
enough to draw
together our daily vibrancy.
Through the artificial
smiles and dignities
fastened down with
Elmer’s Glue comes
the gleam of a real
ability electrified
by a true agility
layered with sincere
tranquility reminding us
that we are the true
star despite any
flaw or futility.

Hand Me Not Down

Hand Me Not Down
Can I wish my past
away no I cannot
but my past is not
to be driven down the
throats of what is my
future as the same
path taken once 30 to
40 years ago needs to be
She is my future
as are the others so as I
will decrease, they must
increase, but I will not
sit back and let their futures
only serve me I want them
to be healthy I want them
to be happy I especially
want her to veer away
from the journey I had to
take that lasted more
than a lifetime to reverse
in direction.
I had no guidance
I had no talking sense
I had no hope given
to what would be my
future tense
for her I want health
to be a better choice
and to make better sense
I will work with her
try with her
not let it go
as stupid inconvenience.

New Day’s Reward

Every seed planted
every step taken
every eye now opened
to a previous unknown.
As we reawaken
our opinions
long hardened
have been re-shaped
and shaken as a
new day reveals a
brighter dawn
the old ways
the yesterdays
distant memories
A new priority
now envisioned
a new advancement
a new decision
to take a stance
on a taken chance
sharing a dance
with a new romance
desiring to embark
desiring to enhance.
Opening the eyes
to take in the
beauty on our
earth in our skies
holding in our
hearts that every
day we newly see
is not a scripted
right but a valuable

All Belonging

We want to build
walls against
invaders suddenly
we  become the haters
patroling the
streets where we think
live the carriers setting up
our mind’s own narrow cut
barriers causing hate to
manifest from within while
on the out we point
the finger to another color skin.
Every religion, nationality,
gender, culture,
and race has its moderate
thinkers mixed with
a more extremist
face passing hateful
swell all over the place
building its destructive
loveless base
of men
of women
in every case
who come to believe
that others are
the worthless
inhuman disgrace
for whom bullets and bombs
should ensue a deadly
Countries are cracking
like a dollar store
vase while a hateful
aroma invades the air
like mace
we need to break
down the hate
we need to heal this
mental case
not with separation
or isolation but
the knowledge to
embrace the many
people many beliefs
many spirits many
hearts that complete
this God given world
and all its many
different parts.
We live here not to
make it one in
the same but one
of variety free of
prejudice or shame
once we all believe it
once we all achieve it
we then become winners
in this life long game.
